Upgrade Your Property With Bi-Fold Doors
There are many ways in which you can upgrade your property. You could build a conservatory, extend your property, you could use a loft conversion service or you could even create a basement.
However if you want to increase the amount of light entering your property, you could upgrade your property with some fantastic bi-fold doors. These doors (also known as bi-folding doors or folding sliding doors) are a type of door that slides open and the individual panels fold up. Usually these doors contain a large amount of glass, allowing lots of natural light into the room.
Our Recent Project; Corner Bi-Fold Doors
Recently we designed corner bi-fold doors as a part of an extension of a residential property. The client wanted to maximise the amount of natural light entering their rear living room and provide unobstructed access to the property's garden. To meet these requests the team of engineers at Riddwood designed an opening for corner bi-fold doors. Additionally, we also designed the support for a 2m long x1.5m wide roof lantern.
What Role Did Riddwood Play In This Project?
The Riddwood Consulting Engineers team designed a steel frame which was completely hidden inside the rear wall of the extension. This steel frame was designed to meet the criteria set by bi-fold door manufacturer in order to prevent (or reduce) future malfunction of the bi-fold doors.
Within a week the Riddwood team had submitted the structural calculations and drawings. This allowed the construction process to commence immediately. However the Riddwood team's role did not end there. We provided continuous support to the contractor in order to ensure the smooth operation of the construction phase plan.
